Amounts are in Moroccan dirhams (MAD), as the sources published them. We do not convert them into other currencies, round them or average them.
How much is a Ramadan Umrah from Morocco?
An Umrah outside Ramadan can cost up to 50% less than a Ramadan Umrah, according to an agency-association head quoted by Le360 (March 2024)5. The published Ramadan figures come from three kinds of speaker: the national federation of travel agencies, a regional agency association, and individual agencies interviewed by journalists.
The figure quoted most often is the federation's: an average of about 25,000 dirhams in 2023, then about 35,000 dirhams in 2024, flight and hotel included, according to the federation, quoted by Medias242.
In the same 2024 season, a regional association head put an economy Ramadan Umrah at about 25,000 dirhams, according to an agency-association head quoted by Le360 (March 2024)5. We reproduce both figures as they were published. Our fact registry records them as divergent: neither source says which packages its figure covers or how it was worked out, so we cannot say which one better describes the market. We do not average them.
At the other end of the market, luxury offers could exceed 60,000 dirhams, according to an agency-association head quoted by Le360 (March 2024)5.
So there is no single "Ramadan price". There is a wide spread, driven mostly by which days of the month you travel, the hotel and its distance from al-Haram, the room you share and the flight. How much each of those lines weighs is set out in what drives Umrah prices from Morocco.
Why are there no published prices for next Ramadan yet?
As of 20 October 2026, we had found no published price data for the Ramadan 2027 Umrah, from the press or from Moroccan agencies, and none for Ramadan 2026 either1.
The calendar explains part of the silence. On the Umm al-Qura calendar, 1 Ramadan 1448 would fall on Monday 8 February 2027 (estimate, subject to moon sighting)6. On the Saudi side, the last Umrah visas of the 1448 season will be issued on 9 March 20277. How Morocco sets its own start date is explained on omra-ramadan.ma's page on Ramadan dates.
In past seasons, the price articles we rely on appeared in the weeks before the month, not months ahead:
- late December 2024, agencies' offers for Rajab, Shaban and part of Ramadan, according to agencies quoted by Hespress (December 2024)8;
- January 2025, the federation's floor price for economy packages, according to the federation's president, quoted by Morocco World News (January 2025)4;
- March 2024 and March 2025, budget estimates published during the month itself, according to an agency-association head quoted by Le360 (March 2024)5 and according to LesEco (March 2025)3.
A price read early in the season is not necessarily the price paid closer to departure. We will not project a figure for next Ramadan from past seasons. This page will be updated as soon as dated, sourced figures appear, and reviewed again in the weeks before the month begins.
Which averages and minimums were published for past Ramadans?
The table gathers every Ramadan figure we could tie to a source, a publication date and a scope. Each season keeps its own rows; nothing is merged.
| Season | What the figure measures | Amount | Source |
|---|---|---|---|
| Ramadan 2023 | average, flight and hotel | about MAD 25,000 | according to the federation, quoted by Medias242 |
| Ramadan 2024 | average, flight and hotel | about MAD 35,000 | according to the federation, quoted by Medias242 |
| Ramadan 2024 | economy package, with a return ticket of about MAD 14,000 | about MAD 25,000 | according to an agency-association head quoted by Le360 (March 2024)5 |
| Ramadan 2024 | luxury offers, with a business-class return ticket at MAD 35,000 | over MAD 60,000 | according to an agency-association head quoted by Le360 (March 2024)5 |
| Ramadan 2025 | cheapest economy packages, announced in January | from MAD 30,000 per person | according to the federation's president, quoted by Morocco World News (January 2025)4 |
| Ramadan 2025 | some packages | from about MAD 25,000 | according to LesEco (March 2025)3 |
| Ramadan 2025 | premium and VIP packages, per person | 2 to 3 times more | according to LesEco (March 2025)3 |
The two rows on the cheapest packages of the last documented season pull in opposite directions: a higher floor announced in January by the federation's president, a lower starting point reported in March by LesEco. They were published on different dates and may not describe the same packages. We keep both and do not average them, as our method does with every conflict.
None of these figures states the room basis or the exact number of nights. A price for a room shared by four and a price for a double room cannot be compared directly.
Figures for the rest of the year, and the price floors reported since the pandemic, are on how much Umrah costs from Morocco.
The last 10 nights: why do prices peak?
Prices climb most during the last 10 days of Ramadan, according to an agency-association head quoted by Le360 (March 2024)5.
These are the most sought-after nights of the month for pilgrims, and the supply of seats and hotel rooms close to the mosque does not grow to match. The premium itself has never been put in figures by a source we accept. We do not know whether it amounts to a few hundred dirhams or several thousand, and it probably differs from one package to the next.
If your family is choosing between two parts of the month, the only reliable way to see the difference is to ask for two strictly comparable quotes: same agency, same hotel, same room basis, same number of nights, one for the first part of the month and one for the end.
How much of a Ramadan package is the flight?
The flight is the heaviest line in a Ramadan package. In an economy Ramadan Umrah put at about 25,000 dirhams, the return ticket accounted for about 14,000 dirhams on average, according to an agency-association head quoted by Le360 (March 2024)5.
It is also the line a quote can hold least firmly over time: in February 2025, almost every airline was full on direct Morocco-Saudi flights, according to LesEco3.
So when an agency offers you a Ramadan package, ask whether the flight is direct or has a stopover, and whether the fare has changed since the first quote. A Ramadan quote should say plainly whether the flight is direct or has a stopover, from which Moroccan city it leaves, and on which dates.
Outside Ramadan: what gap has been published?
An Umrah outside Ramadan can cost up to 50% less, according to an agency-association head quoted by Le360 (March 2024)5. That is a ceiling given by one professional, not a measured average gap.
Offers published at the end of 2024 show the scale: from 15,500 dirhams for 2 weeks in Shaban, against at least 18,000 dirhams for packages covering part of Ramadan, which generally exceeded 20,000 dirhams, according to agencies quoted by Hespress (December 2024)8.
A more recent online comparison site puts the gap much lower. We do not use its figure: it is a commercial site, not the press or a professional body, and it does not publish its method.
For a family whose dates are flexible, this gap is the most concrete argument for travelling in Rajab or Shaban. For a family set on Ramadan, the choice of days within the month weighs more than anything else.
How do you budget before this season's prices are out?
While no figure has been published for the coming Ramadan, a budget is better built from questions than from a number.
Step by step
- Decide which part of the month: the start, the middle or the last nights.
- Choose the room basis: a room shared by four, by three or by two, priced per person.
- Ask whether the flight is direct, and from which city.
- Ask for the hotel's distance from the mosque and the number of nights in Makkah and in Madinah.
- Compare at least two written, dated quotes built on those same terms.
Keep a separate margin for what no package covers: pocket money, meals outside the package, small purchases and the unexpected. No source we use puts a figure on this for Ramadan, and it varies a lot from one pilgrim to another, especially for an older parent who may need taxis or help.
What the figures do not tell us yet
- The price of the Ramadan 2027 Umrah: as of 20 October 2026, nothing had been published1.
- The exact start of the month: 1 Ramadan 1448 on 8 February 2027 is an estimate, subject to moon sighting6.
- The size of the premium for the last 10 nights: no source we accept has put a figure on it.
- An average for the last documented season: we found only starting prices and multipliers, no published average.
- The room basis and number of nights behind most published Ramadan prices: the sources rarely state them.
- Our own survey of agency offers does not exist yet; until it does, this page publishes only figures that others have published.
